Grabouw (Western Cape) – Well known South African radio personality, Jeremy Harris, is counting down the days to his Sanlam Cape Mile debut that will take place at the picturesque Grabouw Country Club on Sunday, 07 February 2016.
“I swam and played water polo at school level,” says Harris. “I’ve also competed in the odd short triathlon, but enjoyed the water discipline the most. Swimming is the perfect full body work. Entering the Sanlam Cape Mile was one of those crazy things that I just needed to do. Grabouw is naturally beautiful, making it the perfect area in which to host this exciting event.”
“I am looking forward to participating in an event where Speedo is involved,” continues Harris. “I’ve been affiliated with the brand for almost eight years. It all started when they heard me talking on the radio about swimming. Since then they’ve spoilt me with some of the best swimming technology available. For the Sanlam Cape Mile, Speedo has given me their Speedo Fit Pinnacle Jammer. This suit offers great core and leg support while keeping the swimmer in a good swimming position. Hopefully it’ll keep me in that position for a mile.”
Robert Thompson, Head of Marketing and Communications at Sanlam Investments added, “As WealthsmithsTM , we are proud to be involved with a professional event that attracts some of the best local and international swimmers, as well as celebrities such as Jeremy Harris.”
Taking place at the Eikenhof Dam, Grabouw Country Club (Western Cape) on Sunday, 07 February 2016, the Sanlam Cape Mile is an exciting open water swim. Entrants can choose between an exhilarating mile (1.6km) and a refreshing 500m swim.
